As I see it, there was nothing spontaneous about Trump’s racist and male supremacist rant yesterday. It was calculated, planned, and performative. It’s at the core of his worldview and campaign strategy, designed to appeal to his voting base as well as demonstrate what he considers his unassailable right as a white (rich in this case) man to define — put in “their” place — people of color and women.
It also reveals that his anticipated waltz into the White House in November has become problematic in his (sick) mind with Kamala’s electrifying ascendancy to the top of the Democratic Party ticket.

While I currently reside in New York, my politically formative years were spent in Portland, Me. and Detroit during the 1970s and 1980s. I graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia (where I played basketball) and received a MA in economics from the University of Connecticut.
I was the national chairperson of the Communist Party, USA from 2000 until 2014 when I stepped down at the convention. In 2016 I resigned from the Communist Party two years later. We were no longer on the same page.
